Fractional CIO Services
A Part-Time or Fractional CIO, why is this an excellent choice?
Choosing to take advantage of a Fractional CIO provides you with the benefit of many years of experience that a seasoned professional has for a fraction of the cost and with flexibility to fit your budget.
IT has become a critical component of the day-to-day operations of most businesses today. The IT team has grown reactively or organically to address immediate needs however not to address a strategic or planned outcome. All too often the IT teams is managed by another executive that already has a full time set of responsibilities or outsourced all together, both leaving mission critical services in the already full hands of another.
By choosing a fractional CIO you will benefit by:
- Freeing up that other executive leader to focus on their primary role 100%
- Gain a professional IT function with experienced, proven, single point of contact accountability for your organization
- An optimized and business aligned IT vision and operation across the entire business
A fractional CIO plays a dual role: operationally managing the company’s day-to-day IT functions and strategically providing high-level input as a trusted advisor who understands the company’s operations and serves as a sounding board for the executive team.

Our work typically involves three basic components:
Understanding: It starts with a brief discovery process. We look to document the what and how of IT. we are looking to see if IT strategy aligns with the company’s overall business goals. We use this to develop an IT strategic roadmap, aligned with and approved by company management.
Getting to work: We then prioritize, plan and execute the specific projects in the roadmap to optimize usage, adopt new technologies, streamline expenses, secure and defend against cyber threats, ensure data and systems are protected from data loss, including recoverability, and that this is all done meeting all compliance requirements.
Monitor, Measure, Improve: As the work gets done, we help manage the day-to-day IT function on an ongoing basis.
While the actual details are worked out with each client, in practice, we work in a hybrid model with some time is spent on-site understanding business needs, culture, and interacting with internal teams, the balance is performed remotely. This includes monitoring and responding to alerts and emails, managing projects, working with vendors, and ensuring the company’s IT needs are met at all times.
